We have reached another Jummah, Alhamdulillah, which means I must share this beneficial resource for Muslim families. I believe Muslim reverts could also benefit from this, Inshaa’Allah.
As a mother of teenagers, I created this poster to help us perform Ghusl correctly, based on the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah. This resource includes informative content, questions, and a creative activity that can be laminated and displayed in the bathroom. Hopefully, by the will of Allah, it will also benefit the rest of the family.
As Muslims, it is important for us to purify ourselves through acts of worship, including Ghusl, to cleanse certain impurities. Unfortunately, many parents do not educate their children on this due to the specific language involved. In creating this resource, I have made an effort to use language that is appropriate and essential for children to understand the importance of cleanliness and purification.
The motivation behind creating this resource for the wider Muslim community came from a troubling encounter. A few years ago, I met a Muslim woman with children who was unaware of what Ghusl was. This incident deeply shocked me and reminded me of the necessity to educate our children on such important matters. It is crucial to ensure that teenagers, especially those approaching puberty, are taught the steps and obligations of Ghusl.
