Islam gives tremendous importance to the Prayer (in Arabic: Salāh).
It has the highest position after the testimony of faith (which enters a person into Islam). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Islam is built on five pillars: That Allah alone is to be worshipped and to disbelieve in the worship of others besides Him, to establish the daily prayers, to pay the Zakāt, to perform the Hajj and to fast the month of Ramadān.” (Muslim, 16)
The Prayer is the barrier between a person and sins, just as Allah (the Most High) said, “Recite, O Prophet, what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish the Prayer. Indeed, the Prayer keeps away lewd and immoral conduct, and wrongdoing.” (Al-‘Ankabūt, 45)
Amr b. Shu’aib narrated from his father from his grandfather that Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) said:
“Command your children with the Salah at the age of seven”. [Abu Dawood, 495]
As a starting point to familiarise your child or student with the five daily prayers that Allah has commanded us with, I have created these, easy, interactive, yet simple worksheets on the names and times of the Salah. I hope they are of benefit to you and your family In’shaa’Allah
