We must be very cautious of shirk and ingrain fear of it into ourselves and our children.

And it is upon us to know and beware of all of its avenues, because shirk enters upon the people in small ways that are not obvious to them and through acts that they do not know are acts of shirk, for example placing an "eye" or a horse shoe at the entrance to one's home, or carrying a rabbit's foot, wearing a "lucky shirt" or tying a string on one's wrist or neck for protection.

And you'll find that such a person, if he did not wear it or were you to cut it off of him, he becomes afraid or doesn't feel comfortable, fearing that something will happen to him - which proves that this is from shirk. So if a person believes that these things can bring about benefit or protect him from harm, then he believes that these things have more power and more effect than Allah's Oadr (Pre-decree), which is from Allah's Actions! Here is where shirk enters and here is where the danger lies for our children, for these affairs can more easily enter upon them than sacrificing for other than Allah and the like.

Allah said: "And worship Allah (Alone) and join none with

Him in worship" An-Nisa (4):36

And shirk is the greatest sin by which Allah is disobeyed, as He said, the Most High:

"Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. " Al-Maa’idah (5):72

And shirk is that a person makes a rival for Allah, calling upon (it), and hopes in it, or fears it, or places his trust and reliance upon it, or has fervent desire towards it besides Allah, and other than that from the various types of acts of worship.

The worst sin (Shirk)

Every parent is commanded to teach their children about Shirk, a sin Allah will not forgive.

Don’t leave this world without saving your children or your students from the fire.

Allah said:Indeed, associating others in worship alongside Allah is great injustice.

(Surah Luqman: 13)
