Why This Planner Is a Must-Have for Teaching and Homeschooling
Today is the start of our new homeschool plan for the year. I have been using this planner for years because it’s so thorough. Although it says "12-month planner," it has no specific dates, so you can use it at any time. Basically, it never runs out of dates. There are so many pages within it, Allahumma Barik. For example, there are curriculum pages, book lists, class schedules, daily details, end-of-month reflections, and weekly plans. To be honest, it’s the weekly plan I use the most so I can see our week ahead. I don’t use the other pages as much, and if I do, I just turn them into weekly plan pages, lol! It also has schedule pages and overview pages.
Balancing Teaching and Homeschooling with a Flexible Planner
The reason I’m sharing this is because it’s brilliant—not only for homeschoolers but also for teachers too. I will be using it for all my plans for the students this year, In’shaa’Allah. I highly recommend having some sort of planner for your planning, as it keeps you organized, and you can see all the wonderful things you’ve taught your children or students on paper. You can track all the progress. I’ve been a bit slack with this recently because there’s been a lot going on in our family—people ill or babies being born, Alhamdulilah. I know this will continue, as there’s always something new happening in families that distracts us, but we should still always have a plan to go back to and start again. My motto is, "If it’s not written down, I’m probably not going to do it." That leaves me stranded, not knowing where to begin again. So, my advice is: write it down! And it’s fun! I’m enjoying thinking about what’s ahead for us. May Allah bless our teachings and help us act upon all that we learn.
So, sisters, teachers, and mothers, go shop for a new teaching plan book today and get all those plans written down, In’shaa’Allah.

Tips for Streamlining Your Teaching and Homeschooling Workflow
Oh, and one more tip: keep your teacher’s planning book or homeschooling book in sight on your teaching days. Keep it open and in view so you can get everything you need to do done, In’shaa’Allah. I mean, we all love ticking off those things we’ve completed, right? It feels absolutely rewarding when that happens, lol.
Have fun!
Love, Umm Harris ♥️
